One World One Humanity is a Montreal-based community organization founded by Jimmy Chan, dedicated to cultural appreciation, humanitarian service, inclusion, and bringing communities together.

Founder Jimmy Chan has helped organize Chinese Canadian community participation in Montreal's Canada Day Parade since the 1980s. His longstanding involvement reflects the organization's commitment to cultural representation, community participation, and Canadian identity.

Our vision is to celebrate Montreal's multicultural identity by encouraging community participation, cultural expression, collaboration, and shared Canadian pride.

Montreal's modern Canada Day Parade was founded by Dr. Roopnarine Singh in 1978. Jimmy Chan's contribution is associated with the organization and development of Chinese Canadian community participation in the parade.

In recent years, the traditional downtown parade has been absent. It was cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, returned in 2023, and was cancelled again in 2024 and 2025. Its organizer cited permit and funding difficulties, red tape, roadwork on Sainte-Catherine Street, strained relations with city departments and municipal worker strikes. The City of Montreal stated that no project application had been submitted.

Yes. Jimmy Chan is now actively working with other community leaders to bring back Montreal's Canada Day Parade, so that families, cultural communities and performers can once again march together on July 1.
